Significant growth in challenging times
The deep economic and employment upheaval of 2009 brought unprecedented challenges to businesses around the globe, including the dental benefits industry. Locally, rising unemployment exacerbated the economic upheaval. More than ever, employers looked for ways to balance affordability and value in their benefit offerings.
Against this backdrop, Altus Dental’s performance in 2009 was once again
strong as we became an even more attractive option for employers. Our enrollment grew by 16.8%, to 95,650 members, marking the 8th consecutiveyear of growth. Premiums totaled nearly $29 million, an increase of 36.7% over last year.
